The Help

Ø  The desegregation is one of the struggles of the President J.F. Kennedy, in the early 1960’s the daily life of the black American population is made of inequality and discrimination in many areas. The struggle and contestation of the civil rights moment eventually resulted in laws. The HELP is a story that takes place in the Mississippi during the 60’s. Kathryn Stockett in her novel, tell a story of a surprising duo. This odd couple is composed of white women who is Skeeter and black women who is Aibileen. Skeeter is a pretty girl who is different than the other women. She is very open-minded unlike the other girl of her age. She is ambitious and she comes from the upper-class.

Ø  We all love this movie, we can establish a parallel between ourselves and the characters of the story, and it’s a moving story. Its catch us thanks to the fight of the maids. The film wants to be striking, moralizing and thinking about human conditions more exactly of the black conditions of life. The link between the maids and the children, our child and the child of the white peoples is very strong. That’s upset us.

Ø  We have decided to choose the last scene of the movie because we think that it’s the most touching scene of the movie. Aibileen gets fired of the house where she works; she has to leave the little girl that she loves. She indeed educates her, so it’s a hard challenge.  The little girl doesn’t want Aibileen to leave the house but for Aibileen it will be our last baby. She finally says “God says we have to love enemies. It’s hard to do. But it can start by telling the truth. No one ever asked me what it was like to be me. Once I told the truth, I felt free” and she explained that our son already says that someone in Aibileen’s  family is going to be a writer and that’s going to be Aibileen. The last scene has a moralizing role; we have to do what we want in order to be what we want to be.

The actrices of the Help won three prizes at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Really great commentary, i like how the ending of your expression is written but don't put your opinion about the movie, stay neutral.
